Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at HowardCenter.
We believe that everyone deserves support. We also believe that everyone has a special skill or talent to share. So whether your particular area of expertise is being a good friend, teaching computer skills, or helping someone learn to cook, think about sharing your talent. We have numerous opportunities for you to consider:
Holiday Gift Wrap Project : Volunteers are needed to help wrap gifts at Border's Books on Church Street in Burlington from December 12-December 24. Donations for gift wrapping services during that time will be used to support HowardCenter programs. Contact Martie Majoros at mmajoros@howardcenter.org or at 488-6911 for more information.
Art Appreciation: Do you appreciate art as an important component in your life? If so, check out how you can volunteer on a continual basis. Click here for more details on becoming involved with our rotating art exhibit.
Community Friends Mentoring is looking for caring, adult volunteers who would like to be matched with area youth for big-brother/big-sister type relationships. Please click here to learn more about this opportunity. In addition, Community Friends Mentoring is also seeking volunteers to help out with its annual Halloween party. Every year, Community Friends collaborates with the King Street Youth Center to host a Halloween party filled with lots of crafts, games, and tasty treats. Volunteers are vital to the success of this event. For more information, click here.
The Resource Center offers a variety of classes to our clients from Developmental Services. These classes are most successful when we have help from community members who have particular hobbies or talents they would like to share. If you are interested in teaching a class, please click here for more information.
In addition, HowardCenter posts its volunteer opportunities on the United Way Volunteer Center website. Please click here to view those listings.
