Help transform a student space at Howard Center’s Baird School
Every child deserves more than just a seat in a classroom. They deserve to feel safe, supported, connected, and ready to learn.
Howard Center’s Tutorial and Behavior Services (TABS) Program supports students navigating emotional, behavioral, social, and academic challenges. Located inside the Baird School at our 1138 Pine Street site in Burlington, TABS provides students with the structure, support, and care they need to rebuild confidence and reconnect with learning.
And it works, about 99% of students in the program successfully transition back to their school environments with very few behavioral incidents.
Why this matters
The TABS multipurpose room is used every day as a cafeteria, library, calming space, gathering area and student gardening hub. While the space is functional, it does not yet reflect the warmth and belonging the program provides.
Through the A Place to Belong campaign, Howard Center is raising funds to create a calming, welcoming and therapeutic environment for students.
