Mental Health Urgent Care
Howard Center’s Mental Health Urgent Care (MHUC) provides a therapeutic alternative to emergency department visits for adults 18 and over.
MHUC bridges the gap between emergency care and primary care by providing timely mental health services in a supportive environment and helps to reduce unnecessary emergency department visits. The program offers person-centered, equitable, and coordinated care, tailored to meet each guest’s needs.
As a therapeutic alternative to emergency department services, the clinic provides mental health support, peer support, suicide care, care management, and related medical assessment and care in a trauma-informed setting for adults experiencing a mental health crisis.
The program is a partnership between Howard Center, the University of Vermont Medical Center, Community Health Centers, Pathways Vermont, and the Vermont Department of Mental Health.
Walk-in care is available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No appointment is necessary. Located at 1 South Prospect Street, Arnold 4, Elevator C, Burlington, Vermont. Free parking. Easy access by public transportation. Closed on some holidays.
