The South Burlington Rotary Club will host the 13th Annual Curling Classic on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cairns Arena in South Burlington in partnership with Howard Center and the South Burlington Food Shelf.
The event is free and open to the public and spectators are invited to stop by throughout the day to cheer on the curling teams. The tournament is sold out.
The day-long competition not only focuses on curling strategy but also celebrates creativity and community spirit, with 32 teams competing for awards in categories such as best team name, most creative costume, most spirited team, and top fundraising team.
“The Curling Classic has become a highlight of the year, bringing the community together for a fun and meaningful day,” said John Wilking, South Burlington Rotary Club member. “It’s a chance for people to support important local organizations while enjoying the camaraderie and competition of curling.”
Curling instruction, equipment, and support will be provided by the Green Mountain Curling Club volunteers to ensure a welcoming experience for both new and experienced curlers.
“It’s always a fun day seeing old and new friends and we are so grateful for the South Burlington Rotary Club’s continued support of Howard Center and their dedication to meaningful service. We thank the curlers, sponsors, and volunteers who all reflect our community’s generosity and commitment to caring for one another,” said Denise Vignoe, Director of Development and Communications at Howard Center.
The funds raised will directly benefit Howard Center, the South Burlington Food Shelf, and other community organizations. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the South Burlington Food Shelf to be entered into a raffle drawing.
