The program, called the Community Partners Desk, has been in the works for about four months after Library Director Mary Danko saw an increase in people coming into the library that may need services.
She and the rest of the library wanted to give greater access to social services, and saw an increase in libraries across the country adding social workers to their staff, Danko said.
Every Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. a representative from the Howard Center sits at the desk to offer up their help to those who may be in need, Director of Access and Intake for the Howard Center Julia Paradi
