Howard Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Lisa Martiny, LICSW, as the director of Adult Intensive Services (formerly the Community Support Program). Martiny brings nearly two decades of dedicated service, leadership, and clinical expertise.
Martiny began her career at Howard Center in 2007 as a care manager after earning both her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) degrees from the University of Vermont. She was promoted to residential supervisor in 2012 and in 2014 became assistant director of the program, where she played a key role in program operations, staff development, and the continued evolution of services.
“Lisa has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, deep compassion, and an unwavering dedication to our mission,” said Beth Goss, director of client care and coordination. “Her vision and experience will continue to strengthen Adult Intensive Services at Howard Center.”
In her new role as director, Martiny will oversee a broad range of programs designed to support adults with complex mental health needs, ensuring access to high-quality, person-centered care across the region.
Martiny lives in Underhill with her husband, three cats, and a dog. She is deeply committed to the mission and values of Howard Center and looks forward to continuing her growth as a leader while serving clients, staff, and the broader community.
“I am honored to step into this role,” said Martiny. “I believe strongly in the work we do and the resilience of the individuals we serve. I look forward to supporting our teams and strengthening our services in the years ahead.”
