Howard Center Welcomes New Director of Home and Community Services

Burlington, VT— Howard Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Mitchell, LICSW, as the new Director of Home and Community Services. Mitchell will replace Beth Holden, who has been promoted to Chief Client Services Officer.

Mitchell brings over 37 years of experience in social work, including 19 years with Howard Center’s Early Childhood Family Mental Health Program where she began as a clinician and later served as a supervisor, intake coordinator, and assistant director. She has been the director of the program over the past 5 years. Mitchell holds a clinical social work license in Vermont and previously held one in Pennsylvania. She resides in the new north end of Burlington with her husband David.

Mitchell joins Howard Center’s Howard Center Leadership Team (HCLT) and the Client Services Cabinet, where she will provide leadership and ensure clinical best practices in a range of programs serving children and families. In her new role, Mitchell will work with staff, leadership, board, and community partners to ensure Howard Center continues to meet the needs of its clients and their families.

Mitchell began her role as Director of Home and Community Services on February 6, 2023.
