Burlington, VT—Howard Center is pleased to announce that ACT 1 will resume 24/7 public intoxication screening services on July 1 – earlier than anticipated – after reducing programming in March due to a workforce shortage.
ACT 1 is part of Howard Center’s comprehensive substance use treatment programming and provides 24/7/365 information, referral, and screening support for individuals who are or are suspected to be incapacitated due to alcohol and/or other drugs. Resources and information are provided regarding treatment and recovery options.
After individuals are screened, they will be referred for the appropriate level of care.
Director of Crisis, Dr. Deanna Ryerson says, “We are pleased to resume screening services for our community and look forward to working together with our partners to ensure individuals receive the level of care they need.”
