The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently donated $25,000 to Howard Center as part of the foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community. Since its inception in 2002, the Foundation has distributed over $230 million through more than 21,330 grants to local non-profits from Maine to Florida.
Howard Center provides mental health, substance use, and developmental services and supports to over 16,000 children, adults and families each year, and was very pleased to receive the donation. Howard Center’s CEO Bob Bick says, “Howard Center is very fortunate to have great neighbors in TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation. They provide support in affordable housing and other initiatives, many which focus on improving the welfare of children, adults, and families.”
The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will support our Avenue 7 Program which offers transitional housing for young adults ages 18-28 who receive Developmental Services from Howard Center. This supportive, transitional, residential community with site staff and a residential program advisor, help individuals gain the skills they need to live independently.
“We are proud to partner with Howard Center to provide the necessary resources to insure that everyone in our community is included in building a more sustainable and financially secure future,” said Sheryl McQuade, TD Bank Regional President.
