Howard Center’s Community Outreach Program Expands to Richmond, Vermont

The Community Outreach Program has been active in the participating communities of South Burlington, Colchester, Williston, Winooski, Essex, Shelburne for two years, and is very pleased to announce it has now expanded services to include Richmond, Vermont.

The Community Outreach Team works in partnership with local and regional law enforcement, business owners, and community members  to respond to individuals of any age with unmet social service needs, often due to (but not limited to) mental health or substance use issues.  The team provides a range of social service resources and support, allowing first responders to respond to emergent needs and criminal behavior.

Jeff Cook, Community Outreach Team Lead says, “Community Outreach team members have been working to introduce ourselves to the community, and provide information about how Community Outreach can assist the town of Richmond. By introducing the program to new individuals we hope that people will feel comfortable enough to call us and ask for assistance; for themselves or others.”
