Telehealth Services at Howard Center
Telehealth is a healthcare service delivery method using telecommunications technologies. It is real-time, audio-video communication tools that connect HC providers and individuals we serve in different locations. Currently, HC has only approved Zoom for use of telehealth services (it is a secure HIPAA compliant platform). If clinically appropriate, the following services may be provided: Doctor’s appointments, Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, Assessments, Emergency/Crisis Services, Individual Community Support, Service Coordination and in some circumstances, Group Therapy.
The privacy and security of telehealth services is essential to these services. The federal government has created a tipsheet on how an individual can protect their information when using telehealth services, the Telehealth Privacy & Security Tips for Patients.
